The community partnership is at the core of our mission. We are a “Public Charity” and our mission is purposed to benefit the community. Without participation from the community it will not be possible to provide protective factors against youth violence. By becoming a BAM Member you will stay up to date on BAM events and activities, have direct access to youth enrollment and have a collective voice that reaches our public officials regarding public safety issues that affect your community.

R & B singer and songwriter Kim Lamont Owens (KEM) was born in Nashville, Tennessee. When he was young, his family moved from Nashville to the Detroit suburb of Southfield, Michigan. Owens began to explore the keyboard when he was four and became fascinated by music in high school in the 1980s. However, upon graduation, he dealt with homelessness, addiction, and isolation from his family. Owens recovered in 1990 and worked as a waiter. He also booked weddings and other shows that allowed him to perform original music. In 2012, Owens established Mack & Third, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting the homeless by gathering food and raising funds for Detroit’s shelters and food banks. He also presents the annual ‘Mack & Third’ event, an all-day free concert to benefit and recognize the city’s homeless citizens.
Al Jarreau was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on March 12, 1940, The fifth of six children. His father Emile Alphonse Jarreau was a Seventh-day Adventist Church minister and singer, and his mother Pearl (Walker) Jarreau was a church pianist Al Jarreau worked as a rehabilitation counselor in San Francisco and moonlighted with a jazz trio headed by George Duke. In 1967, he joined forces with acoustic guitarist Julio Martinez. [The duo became the star attraction at a small Sausalito night club called Gatsby's. This success contributed to Jarreau's decision to make professional singing his life and full-time career. He died February 12, 2017
SAM COCKRELL-bassist, songwriter, bandleader
Sam grew up in the blues territory of Chicago's South Side and is a Chicago Blues hall of fame inductee. He has worked with the big names of Blues including Buddy Guy. He has performed a good deal in western Canada, with European tours from time to time.
Sam recorded a few singles with a band called Brothers Of The Ghetto in the 1970s.
He has recorded several CD’s including “Mugged in Memphis” & “I’m from Chicago” Available on Spotify
ED “BUGZY RED” REDDITT- vocalist, songwriter
Bugzy Red is a male vocalist with an appreciation of the old school sounds of Motown. His soulful vocals reaches the heart of the listener. He is also a songwriter and has released 2 singles.

Terrence has been in the music industry for over 25 years and is an exceptional male vocalist singing with the "Urban Legendz Band"
He started his record label in Detroit at the age of 25 and led one of his artist to take 2nd place in a talent show. The 1st place artist is known today as KEM.
Currently Terrence in working with Gessica Watson on their single "Steppin' to this groove"
GESSICA WATSON-vocalist, fashion designer
Born in Detroit , Mi Gessica started her vocal career In church and is influenced by the Winans, Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston. She has performed a Motown tribute on Broadway and she is also a fashion designer who has worked with Rocawear.

Calvin Fields and Kevin Means met and had been getting together regularly with other musicians to jam and cook BBQ. At each other’s homes. Eventually, The Urban Legendz Band formed during an open mic held at the Urban Corner restaurant sports bar. The Urban legendz are proud to be a part of the BAM Music network of musicians that are willing to mentor at risk youth.
